Spain wins Eurobasket 2011
Tissot Ambassador Tony Parker named in All Star Team

The hugely successful Eurobasket 2011 tournament came to an impressive close in Kaunas, Lithuania with Spain claiming the gold after a 98-85 victory over France, to defend the title they won in Poland in 2009. The bronze medal was claimed by Russia after a close match with the Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia.

As the Official Timekeeper of FIBA, Tissot provided up-to-the-minute timing and results services to the 19-day tournament with the latest scores, results and statistics being beamed to the media and spectators around the world in real time.

The final of Eurobasket 2011 saw Spain's Juan Carlos Navarro once again making a huge contribution to his team's success, top-scoring with 27 points and adding 5 assists, just ahead of France's Tony Parker who added 26 points to his team's total and also had 5 assists.

The Award for Most Valuable Player of Eurobasket 2011 presented by Tissot, and which is voted by the media, was awarded to Juan Carlos Navarro for his consistently high performance throughout the tournament. He was presented with his specially engraved T-Touch Expert watch by FIBA President, Mr. Yvan Mainini, and Lithuanian basketball legend, Arvydas Sabonis.

The inspiring performances of Tissot Ambassador Tony Parker did not go unrewarded, however, as his efforts in tournament were rewarded with a place in the Tournament All Star Team presented by Tissot to go alongside the silver medal that also guarantees France's appearance at next year's Olympic Games in London.

Parker's playing statistics throughout the 10-game tournament made impressive reading as he averaged 22.1 points and 4.4 assists over the 10 games, ranking him 1st and 4th in points and assists respectively.

Parker was joined in the All Tournament Team by Bo McCalebb of FYR Macedonia, Juan Carlos Navarro and Pau Gasol of Spain and Andrei Kirilenko of Russia. FIBA President, Mr. Yvan Mainini, and Lithuanian basketball legend, Arvydas Sabonis again presented each player with a specially engraved PRC 200 watch to celebrate their contribution to the tournament.
